The Beginning...Sort Of.

This is the beginning of the Stay Puft Space Project Blog.  Our goal is to launch a near space balloon and retrieve it, getting photos and video in the process.

One of the experiments we are going to include is to show the effects of extremely low pressures on the humble marshmallow.  At 100,000 feet you have achieved what can be considered for most purposes an almost complete vacuum (about .16psi vs 14.7psi at sea level).  We expect to see some extreme inflation in our marshmallow payload!

This has been in the planning stages for several months, but we felt it was time to start documenting the parts and the process, and thus this blog has begun.

Look here for more updates on our Spring 2013 launch and all the prep work going up to it.
